Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the third busiest airport in China, both by passenger and cargo traffic. The airport was formally brought into operation in 2004. It is the first in China that was designed and built on the hub concept, which serves as a transfer (or stop-over) point to help get passengers to their final destination.
